Nestled on Joplin, Missouri's charming Main Street, The Fabric Merchant is a friendly, inspirational destination for sewists, quilters, and crafters. We offer a wide range of merchandise from high quality Aurifil threads to cottons, books, patterns, and more to satisfy a variety of creative needs and personal interests. We only carry the industry's finest selection of fabrics, from designers and manufacturers such as Andover, Moda, Robert Kaufman, and authentic Aboriginal fabrics from M&S Textiles. 

The Fabric Merchant owner, Robbi Triplett, has been quilting since 1993.  She opened her first quilt shop, Bittersweet Quilts, in 2005.  She has taught classes, given presentations to quilt guilds in the four state area, designed patterns, and hosted quilting retreats.  Robbi also attends International Quilt Market every year to stay current with the industry's newest trends, products, and technologies, so she can better serve her customers.  Customers who drop by the store will be treated to a wealth of knowledge and experience freely offered by Robbi and her talented staff members, who thoroughly enjoy helping others create one of a kind heirlooms.  

The Fabric Merchant features a cheerful, welcoming atmosphere where customer service and hospitality are at the heart of everything we do. From helping customers select coordinating fabrics to offering a little helpful project advice, we’re a friendly bunch who are passionate about providing our local residents, visitors, and customers, with a wonderful sewing or quilting experience!
